3 Syrian workers in Beirut port inhaled poisonous gas emitted by cattle feed on board of livestock carrier FM SPIRIDON on Sep 3.

Feed was soaked by sea water, which entered the compartment through porthole after the ship developed list, and that triggered gas emission.

2 workers lost consciousness, but Civil Defense team of rescuers managed to take them out, alive. Third worker unfortunately, died on the spot.

The ship wasn’t identified, but all available data, including ship’s looks, point at FM SPIRIDON, currently docked at Beirut.

It is not known if injured persons are port workers, or members of the crew.
